Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC)

Canada ratified the Convention on the Right of the Child (CRC) in 1991. Since then Canada has reported to UN Committee on the Rights of the Child a number of times on its progress implementing the Convention. Following a review of Canada’s periodic reports, the committee delivers “Concluding Observations” with recommendations on how Canada can better fulfill its obligations under the Convention. Civil society organizations are invited to participate in these reviews by consulting with the government, submitting parallel reports, and even attending the Committee meetings in Geneva.

Canada underwent its last review by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child in 2012.
