2020 Violence against Women and Girls Award
Almost half of Canadian women experience the devastating mental, physical, social, and financial effects of gender-based violence (GBV) in their lifetime.
CFUW members recognize the significance of this issue and, at our 2013 AGM, we adopted a National Initiative on Violence Against Women. The involvement of CFUW members and clubs is vital in creating change, locally and nationally and our clubs have enthusiastically embraced the initiative, undertaking activities in their own communities.
Our work focuses on insuring that adequate laws, policies and programs are in place to prevent and address VAW.
